MCC in Australia: MCC v Melbourne CC

The visiting MCC lost the toss. Melbourne chose to field to take advantage of any moisture in the pitch. Their opening attack of Quinn and Halbish made life difficult for the early order and it was only a pugnacious knock from Neil Hicks, supported by Deon Kruis, which enabled Marylebone to struggle to 173-8 from 50 overs. The Melbourne response was swift and clinical as Liam Buchanan smashed his way to 84 from 53 balls, leaving the Melbourne side to cruise home by 8 wickets in a mere 22.3 overs.
