The West Indies arrive at Lord's for the first Investec Test Match on 17 May. The first day of any Test series is always momentous, but when held at the Home of Cricket it becomes even more special.
England will be looking to start the summer in style, following an indifferent winter having lost 3-0 to Pakistan in UAE & drawing 1-1 in Sri Lanka.
Last summer's 4-0 whitewash against India seems a long time ago now and Andrew Strauss and his men will no doubt be looking to make a statement in the first Investec Test match of the series.
The West Indies arrive in England on the back of two very tough series'. In November last year they came up against a resurgent India, losing the three match series 2-0.
And they have just completed a competitive series against Australia, which they also lost 2-0.
The last time England met the West Indies at Lord's England were triumphant, winning by 10 wickets with two of the England team producing 'Honours Board' performances.
Ravi Bopara scored 143 in the first innings, and then Graham Onions weighed in with the ball picking up 5 wickets for just 38 runs.
The West Indies will be in no mood to repeat that performance and you can expect this first Test of the summer to be extremely competitive.
