This interactive 3D timeline charts the history of the current Lord’s Ground from its beginnings in 1814 up to its current status as an iconic 21st century sporting venue.
Drawing on archive material, charts and architectural plans, a team of 3D artists and animators created the model that brings the ground’s history to life and highlights Lord’s international significance as the 'Home of Cricket'.
Browse 200 years of history, discovering facts and viewing historic archive images as the modern day Lord's forms from a field to the finest cricket Ground in the world under your control.
Instructions for use.
Choose play to set the Model in motion, click to pause or drag your curser left or right to move forwards and backwards through time. Key events will offer an information point which reveals facts, figures and images and allows the user to find out more and explore paintings and photographs.
The Model is also synced with key events in world history, which can be viewed at the base of the screen.
The interactive version of the model is only available on desktop computers. Viewers on mobile devices can view a video version of the model.
