Keith Bradshaw and Moritz Volz talk cricket
20,000 plus Volz at Lord's
Date released: 10 July 2007
Fulham FC defender and columnist for The Times, Moritz Volz, enjoyed last Friday's Twenty20 match at Lord's as a guest of MCC.
Back in April, the German full-back had expressed confusion about the sport of cricket so, rather than see a local resident missing out on the most English of past times, MCC invited him to attend the Twenty20 fixture, Middlesex v Essex, along with a crowd of over 20,000 cricket fans.
Sporting a pink tie in support of Middlesex's sponsors, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Moritz and girlfriend Anneke were dressed in a suitably glamorous style for the occasion.
Moritz wrote about his experiences in his column in Monday's edition of The Times, which also features on their website. The column was titled: Ignorance can be bliss.

'What are those three sticks called again?' As a guest in the MCC President's Box, the couple from Buerbach were talked through their first experience of live cricket by none other than MCC's Secretary & Chief Executive, Keith Bradshaw.
Moritz and Anneke greatly enjoyed the Pimms, the cricket and the social occasion of a match at Lord's.
You can enjoy cricket in a style suited to a Premiership footballer at Lord's too. Special hospitality packages for The Friends Provident Final are still available - or enjoy a county game, just like Moritz did. Contact the MCC Hospitality Team for more details.
