8:17pm England win by 9 wickets and with 31 balls to spare that's about as comfortable a win as you'll see in Twenty20 cricket.

Promising signs from England indeed.

Thank you for following the game with Lords.org. We'll be here live for every game of the World T20 at Lord's - next up it's England again, against the Netherlands on Friday 5th June.

That match starts at 5:30pm too, after the opening ceremony which starts at 4:40pm. Be sure not to miss a ball - and join us more more live coverage from Lord's.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on8:11pm 15th over: Fidel Edwards is back again - bowling from the Pavilion End this time - to Pietersen.

Edwards gets the slow clap from the crowd as he tinkers with the field placings again... surely just moving deckchairs on the Titanic? A single puts Wright on strike... will he be tempted by the big hit?

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourHe was... he went for it... but it's "only" a four... which ties the score. One more run will win it.

And that's it! A no-ball from Edwards pushes England over the winning line!

England win by 9 wickets

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on8:06pm 14th over: England need just 19 runs to win with plenty of overs to spare. This should be straightforward.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourLionel Baker comes on to bowl. Four more from Wright and England's victory total is within sight. Wright hits another four and just six more are needed... Pietersen on strike next over... will he be tempted to try and do it in one go?

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, six8:04pm 13th over: Wright's threatening the Pavilion windows again - a straight six back down the Ground.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four8:01pm 12th over: Bopara's enjoying Chanderpaul's part-time spin - he hits him for four. Perhaps he's enjoying it a little too much...

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman outHe chases after that one, trying for a Wright-esque six... but Marshall takes the catch on the boundary.

England 119-1 - Bopara c. Marshall b. Chanderpaul - 60

Your emails - our England fan from earlier, Anne, is back: "Think England are answering Bazza's 3 points in style! Keep going guys." - quite right Anne, they're playing very well aren't they?

Thanks for your emails - keep them coming: Live@Lords.org.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on7:55pm 11th over: Fidel Edwards returns to the attack, bowling his quick stuff from the Nursery End.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a half-centuryFirst ball of the over and now it's Bopara celebrating his fifty - well played by both the England openers.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourA little glance off his pads from Wright and England are charing towards the victory target (145). They'll be there in no time at this rate.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on7:52pm 10th over: New bowler and it's Shiv Chanderpaul who steps into the firing line for the Windies.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a half-centuryFifty for Wright and noisy applause around Lord's - the crowd are on their feet - a great innings.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four7:48pm 9th over: Benn's not exempt from the punishment either - but just a four from that one. Tame by Wright's standards in the previous over.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourFour more and surely one of these two will be our first ICC World T20 2009 half-centurion at Lord's?

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on7:44pm 8th over: The football-juggling (in the warm-up) Keiron Pollard comes on to bowl at the Pavilion End.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, sixWright's absolutely belted that one - it's gone way up, into the Tavern Stand - top tier! Joyous England fans do the 'fielding'.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, sixHe's done it again! Into the Mound Stand - at least he's sharing it around the celebnrating England punters!

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, sixGoodness me! Three in a row! Back to the Tavern Stand this time - the '6' card-waving supporters are loving this! They'll have RSI if he keep this up! Welcome to the match Keiron Pollard... 22 from the over!

7:36pm 7th over: Bopara hammered that one almost straight at Benn who half tried to catch it and half get out of the way in self preservation. Result: a dropped catching chance, albeit a tough one.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourA single from Bopara brings up fifty for England - with no wickets down that's the fifty partnership too of course.

Bopara doesn't loiter - four more makes it 54 - with the new floodlights here at Lord's now giving each of the players those odd four-way shadows. It makes each player look like they're standing on an 'X' which follows them around.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on7:33pm 6th over: Bravo replaced Edwards at the Pavilion End in the last over by the way - Sulieman Benn comes on for Edwards now at the Nursery End. The 6'7" spinner will try and restrict the free-scoring Bopara.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four7:28pm 5th over: Successive fours for Bopara - that will up the run-rate nicely. Make that three successive fours!

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four12 runs from 3 balls for the Essex batsman. Even Bravo admired that one, as did the crowd here at Lord's. Bopara clearly likes it here - he scored a Test century here just a few weeks ago.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourA fourth four in the over sends Bopara and England's score rocketing towards the 50-run mark. Impressive stuff from Bopara.

7:22pm 4th over: A wide from Edwards and scampered singles keep England's score on the move but they're still short of the 7-an-over required run-rate... for now.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four7:18pm 3rd over: Wright's off the mark at last - and then some - as his eyes light up at that one from Baker, short and wide - and hit for four.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, sixWright's got his eye in now - he steps into that one from Baker and hoists it into the Pavilion! One of the MCC Pavilion Stewards attempted a catch... but he dropped it!

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourFour more from Wright, back over his head this time - and he's really punishing Baker's bowling now.

7:13pm 2nd over: Fidel Edwards will bowl the next over, from the Nursery End. Edwards was one of the few Windies players to emerge with any credit, following the shambolic 10-wicket Test defeat to England here at Lord's in May.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourFirst four of the innings for England - Bopara gets it with a lucky edge that beats the wicketkeeper.

Good pace from Edwards has Wright chasing an uppish one, past head height.

7:10pm 1st over: Lionel Baker opens the bowling, Ravi Bopara and Luke Wright the England batsmen. Just the one run from the opening over. England need to average over 7 runs per over to win.

6:57pm We'll have a short break between innings but we'll be right back with England's run-chase. They need 145 to win. They chased 136 to win their previous warm-up at The Oval - but that was against Scotland...

6:53pm 20th over: Nope, no fifty for Sarwan after all - the wait goes on. One ball left - Ramdin on strike...

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, sixAnd he clobbers it for six! Into the cheering crowd in the Grand Stand.

West Indies close on 144-6

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:47pm 19th over: Stuart Broad is back, this time at the Nursery End to bowl the penultimate over of the innings.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourRamdin gets his first four of the match, leaning back to clip it off the shoulder of the bat for four - that and being called for a wide, next ball won't cheer Broad's mood at all.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:42pm 18th over: Left-arm seamer Sidebottom returns to bowl from the Pavilion End - Sarwan on strike...

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourAt this rate Sarwan's in danger of becoming the first man to score a half-century in all of the warm-up matches we've had at Lord's. Four more.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman out6:39pm 17th over: There's a wicket at last for England! Swann tempts Simmons, who mistimes his shot and loops it to Anderson on the square-leg boundary.

West Indies - 113-6 - Simmons c. Anderson b. Swann - 7

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:35pm 16th over: All change again, as James Anderson replaces Broad, bowling from the Pavilion End this time.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourFour more runs to the total from Sarwan who's motoring along at the moment - those runs into the leg side.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:32pm 15th over: Here comes Graeme Swann at last - making it another double bowling change - he'll bowl from the Nursery End.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourSuccessive fours from Sarwan brings up the West Indies 100 and see them race on past it too - not a great start for Swann.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:27pm 14th over: Stuart Broad returns at the Pavilion End.

6:23pm 13th over: Both batsmen on 13 runs and we're in the 13th over... spooky?

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman outIt proves unlucky for Bravo who gest under the that one and lifts it into Ravi Bopara's waiting hands.

West Indies 85-5 - Bravo c. Bopara b. Rashid - 13

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:19pm 12th over: Sidebottom's back at the Pavilion End - but still no sign of Graeme Swann - who was man-of-the-match here when England trounced West Indies in the Test Series.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourBravo shows his batting power as he pivots to hook Sidebottom to the boundary in front of the Mound Stand - four.

The twelth man, spared fielding duties for England? Kevin Pietersen - but expect to see him bat later.

6:16pm 11th over: Another fairly frugal over from Rashid but not much to threaten the batsmen - but then in T20 cricket, not conceding runs is almost as good as taking wickets.

6:15pm Despite the consistent clatter of wickets, the West Indies are still trotting along at more than 7 runs an over - that would leave them on 140 come the close which wouldn't be too bad at all.

How do you think it's going? Enjoying our coverage? Send us your emails

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four6:09pm 10th over: Oh, a lucky inside edge from Marshall beats everything and runs for four. Bad luck for Broad.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman outBut the bowler's celebrating next ball! Marshall's gone - caught behind.

West Indies 64-4 - Marshall c. Foster b. Broad - 35

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourTop edge from Sarwan on his first ball and he loops it away to long leg for four - not a bad start!

6:06pm 9th over: A bit of turn to encourage Rashid there but the batsmen happy to knock off more singles to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on6:02pm 8th over: Luke Wright makes it a double bowling change as he comes on at the Pavilion End. Mostly singles from the over.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on5:57pm 7th over: Yorkshire spinner Adil Rashid comes on at the Nursery End - at only 21-years-old there's a bright future ahead for him.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman outOh dear, oh dear... more crazy running. Marshall looks on in disbelief as Pollard runs towards him... and keeps running, straight to the dugout as Rashid removes the bails thanks to Broad's throw.

West Indies 49-3 - Pollard run out (Broad) - 2

Fifty up for West Indies from 42 balls.

5:53pm 6th over: Oh, that's mean... some of the (rather partisan) England crowd are shouting "Two! Two!" every time the Windies run a single, clearly hoping for more Fletcher-style suicidal running.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourMarshall's unphased though as he helps himself to another four through the leg side. A great diving stop on the rope from Anderson prevents another.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, six5:46pm 5th over: There's the first six of the innings - Fletcher steps out to give himself room and powers Anderson over the rope.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman outNext ball - a swing, a lucky edge, loops over the wicketkeeper and goes for four. It all goes rather to Fletcher's head, who then attempts a suicidal second run when there was only one - Rashid tosses the ball to Anderson who has all the time in the world to remove the bails and run him out.

West Indies 31-1 - Fletcher run out (Rashid) - 17

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman out for a duck (no runs)What a catch from Sidebottom! Chanderpaul got bat, toe and something else on that - it looped high towards long-leg but it was travelling very quickly... Sidebottom took a diving catch near the rope - Chanderpaul's out for a duck!

West Indies 32-2 - Chanderpaul c. Sidebottom b. Anderson - 0

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, fourMarshall sees off Anderson's hattrick ball in emphatic style - drilling it for four.

Lords.org commentary icon: New bowler comes on5:42pm 4th over: Stuart Broad replaces Sidebottom at the Pavilion End.

Broad cranks up the pace and hits Marshall on the glove. Ouch. Even with cricket gloves on you'll feel that - a cricket ball bowled at around 90mph.

5:38pm 3rd over: Marshall plays and misses at Anderson, twice - but the Windies keep the scoring rate up.

5:33pm 2nd over: Sidebottom it is who'll bowl from the Pavilion End.

Cracking shot from Fletcher but a brilliant stop from Collingwood in the covers prevents a certain four.

Lords.org commentary icon: Batsman scores a boundary, four5:30pm 1st over: Third ball of the over goes for four to Marshall. A bit of a feeble dive near the rope from Ryan Sidebottom at long leg.

Another dive on the fourth ball - this time from Swann at second slip who can't quite take the catch.

5:27pm Here we go - players on the field. Looks like Luke Wright marking out his run-up early - but James Anderson who'll open the bowling.

5:25pm We've got over-sized warm-up teams again: 13 for the Windies (Gayle is the 13th) just 12 for England. From the England squad on the left - Napier, Key and Mascarenhas sit this one out.

Sammy and Taylor are the two missing from the West Indies squad list (left).

5:09pm I take it back - Ramdin won the toss but they're batting.

West Indies win the toss and elect to bat.

5:09pm There are two captains getting ready for the toss. One of them is England's Paul Collingwood - the other doesn't look like Chris Gayle. Are the West Indies resting their iconic captain?

Yup, it's Dinesh Ramdin who's captaining the Windies today. Interesting. Looks like he's won the toss and fancies a bowl too - Fidel Edwards already marking out his run-up.

5:05pm Here are some of the England boys at last - Eoin Morgan sizing up the wicket. As a Middlesex player he should be pretty familiar with it.

4:56pm No sign of England thus far - just the West Indies warming-up on the outfied: Kieron Pollard showing some pretty useful keepy-uppy skills with a football.
