8:52pm Wow - what a finish! It went right to the last two balls. Yusuf's massive six giving India hope but England cling on... and cling on to their place in the tournament.
India, the holders, are out. Dejected India fans are heading for the exits. After their uber-easy group they never really got going against the "bigger" sides.
England face the West Indies tomorrow - with the winner guaranteed a semi-final place.
8:40pm 20th over: It's ball-by-ball time again. India need 19 runs from this last over to win. Sidebottom to bowl it, Yusuf on strike. Keep pressing F5 to refresh for the latest!
1st ball: Just a single to Yusuf. 18 runs needed.
2nd ball: They run two this time. 16 needed.
3rd ball: Right on Dhoni's toes from Sidebottom - dug out for one. 15 needed.
4th ball: SIX! Yusuf just thumps that back down the ground, into the Pavilion! 9 needed.
5th ball: Just a single - surely that's it. Just don't bowl a wide!
6th ball: It's gone to the rope but it doesn't matter!
England win by 3 runs
India are out!
8:40pm 19th over: Penultimate over. 28 runs needed for an India victory - to stay in the tournament. Stuart Broad will bowl this over.
Run-out chance... Swann's throw to Broad! But the bowler drops it and the chance is gone. Flashback time for Broad after he (literally) threw away the opening match here against the Netherlands?
8:35pm 18th over: James Anderson returns for England now as they look to slow the India run-rate further.
Yusuf keeps his run-rate up, he pivots into that hook shot finding the perfect gap between two fielders on the rope. Four runs. Eleven runs from the over - India stay in touch.
8:29pm 17th over: Luke Wright is brought back, he'll bowl from the Nursery End now.
Just over two runs a ball needed. This is shaping up for a semi-final shoot-out tomorrow between England and West Indies. The winner would be in the semi-finals.
A full toss from Wright, edged by Dhoni for four. Not the best bit of bowling you'll see from Wright. Eleven from the over.
8:26pm 16th over: 60 runs needed from five overs. Two runs a ball. Quite a bit to ask. The match is seemingly England's to lose now.
Yusuf is going to give it a go though - that's a massive six, past the dugouts and into the stand. Fantastic shot.
Still "just" 10 from the over - sounds a lot but that will do nicely for England now.
8:21pm 15th over: Well - still a bit breathless from that over by Swann. That really was an excellent wicket all round for England. Great bowling but Foster's reflex stumping was done in the blink of an eye. Brilliant.
Sidebottom returns for England, bowling from the Nursery End in this spell. Dhoni gets an edge... Foster's diving to his right... but it beats him and runs for four.
8:15pm 14th over: No false sense of security here. I watched India stroll along at a seemingly pedestrian pace against West Indies here on Friday and then (again with Yuvraj at the crease) they accelarated like an F1 racing car in the final few overs.
Jadeja tries to impersonate Yuvraj but doesn't have the power - instead he finds Broad on the rope. Out.
India 85-4 - Jadeja - c. Broad b. Swann - 25
Swann's done it again! He's ripped that one past Yuvraj and Foster has the bails off in a flash! What a delivery! What a stumping! What a wicket for England!
India 87-5 - Yuvraj - st. Foster b. Swann - 17
As if to prove the point, Yuvraj whacks this second six of the innings, right back down the ground and into the Pavilion.
8:11pm 13th over: Stuart Broad is brought back into the attack, after his catch played a part in the last wicket. He'll bowl from the Nursery End.
It might just be my suspicious mind (no Elvis jokes please) but it seems England are doing a fair bit of "accidentally" running over the wicket. Trying to create a bit of rough for Swann to bowl into perhaps?
8:07pm 12th over: Swann spends an age rearranging his field, swapping over Bopara and Sidebottom... and then bowls a wide. Frustrating. Otherwise just singles from the over.
8:01pm 11th over: Another bowling change. This time Dimitri Mascarenhas replaces Luke Wright at the Nursery End.
Jadeja runs one and then runs into Mascarenhas. That's one way to prevent a two!
That's another! Gambhir tries to fish that one around the corner but just pops it into Stuart Broad's waiting hands at backward square leg.
India 62-3 - Gambhir - c. Broad b. Mascarenhas - 26
New batsman in Yuvraj - now he was explosive here on Friday against the West Indies. Sure enough he is again! His first ball faced is thrashed for six!
7:57pm 10th over: Swann replaces Pietersen now. Odd. Perhaps there was a miscommunication: "Bring the spinner on!" and no-one had the heart to take the ball off "KP".
7:52pm 9th over: A double bowling change. Luke Wright comes on at the Nursery End for England's attack.
He'll have to wait a bit... India physio on the field. It looks as if Jadeja's got a touch of cramp. Not enough fluids on a hot day? Tsk...
Jadeja obviously feels a bit better now, a short one from Wright is hooked all the way to the boundary for four. A lovely fluid shot. Fifty up for India.
7:49pm 8th over: Pietersen comes on to bowl his part-time spin. An interesting choice, given full-time spinner Graeme Swann is on the field.
Gambhir's happy though - third ball of the over and he just pops it into a gap in the field and it runs to the rope. Four runs.
7:45pm 7th over: Broad tops 90mph but India keep ticking over with singles. A good over from Broad.
7:44pm You’re all very quiet out there. I know you’re there (for the web-stats, they tell me so). Drop us an email, even if it’s just to say "hello"! Live@Lords.org
7:39pm 6th over: Anderson's back again, at the Pavilion End this time as he gets to try out bowling with the slope taking the ball into the left-hander, Gambhir.
It doesn't help much, Gambhir driving that one away into the off side for four runs. Lovely shot. Text book.
7:35pm 5th over: Stuart Broad replaces James Anderson at the Nursery End. Jadeja gets off the mark with a two.
Interesting to note there's no looking left and pointing from Broad, who received a bit of a telling off for trying to deliberately distract the batsman with that tactic in earlier matches.
7:28pm 4th over: Sidebottom's got a second wicket! Raina swings at a shorter one, trying to hook it - and he did, right to Luke Wright on the boundary.
India 24-2 - Raina - c. Wright b. Sidebottom - 2
7:25pm 3rd over: I thought for a minute Pietersen was lining up to bowl then... but he was just waiting for Anderson to reach his mark so he can give him a pep-talk.
Whatever was said didn't work that well, first ball of the over Gambhir clips it away for four.
The next ball goes to the rope too to the opposite side of the ground. Great shot from Gambhir, off his toes and away for four.
That was a spearing one. It reared up at Raina and catches him on the glove.
7:18pm 2nd over: The recalled Ryan Sidebottom will bowl first from the Pavilion End.
Inside edge from Sharma and he nearly played onto his own stumps there... instead it bounces just wide of them and runs for four.
Sidebottom's got him this time! This time he does play on and the bails fly!
India 12-1 - R. Sharma - b. Sidebottom - 9
7:13pm 1st over: James Anderson will open up for England from the Nursery End. Sharma (Rohit, obviously. It wouldn't be Ishant, the bowler!) and Gambhir batting for India who need 154 to win.
Six from the first over, two wides from Anderson the rest off the bat.
7:03pm So, England just scrape over the 150-run mark. Credit to India's bowlers who kept England's scoring-rate down, especially in the middle section of the innings. Tight bowling and a flurry of wickets slowing the run-rate down.
Your call - send us your emails. Can England defend this total against the India batting line-up and KO India? Or can India win it from here, all but knocking out the hosts?
England close 153-7
6:55pm 20th over: Last over of the innings - England need it to be a big one. 150 is a bare minimum required really.
Foster's gone down swinging - he took a big swipe at that one mistimed it horribly and just dished it straight back to Harbhajan.
England 145-6 - Foster - c&b. Harbahajan - 6
Two in two for Harbhajan - Swann's gone first ball, clean bowled. Golden duck.
England 145-7 - Swann - b. Harbhajan - 0
Oh dear, a terrible misfield from Yuvraj (who just ran past the ball) makes that a five-run wide for Harbhajan. What a roller-coaser over.
England close on 153-7
6:49pm 19th over: Penultimate over and Zaheer Khan comes back to bowl it. Can England push this total over 150?
That four from the skipper is a good start! A well run two adds more to the score as England try and pressurise the fielders with good running.
Oh, that's ugly. Collingwood tries to paddle-sweep... badly and gets out LBW.
England 138-5 - Collingwood - LBW b. Zaheer - 7
6:44pm 18th over: Harbhajan Singh returns at the Pavilion End. It will be a double-change as the next over will see a replacement for the two-wicket Jadeja.
Harbhajan's got Shah out. The Middlesex man going for the big pull shot but just lifting it into Jadeja's hands on the boundary.
England 122-4 - Shah - c. Jadeja b. Harbhajan - 12
That one's wide and hit for four by Mascarenhas and expensive one that one for Harbhajan.
6:39pm 17th over: Jadeja beats Mascarehas with the first ball and Dhoni has the bails off - but he was still within his crease, wasn't he? We go to the TV umpire... 3rd umpire says "Not out".
Mascarenhas is warming to his task now, rocking back to wait for that one, before cutting it away for four.
6:35pm 16th over: Mascarenhas gets hold of that one, at last. His first four and the first four since the ninth over.
Four more, this time it's Shah - getting one up around chest height which he pivots to hook away to the boundary. Good shot.
6:31pm 15th over: Jadeja was only brought in from the sidelines for this match but he could be a match-winner for India, getting Bopara and Pietersen.
Ones and twos again bring up 100 for England from 92 deliveries but these two will need to start scoring more heavily soon to challenge the India batsmen.
6:27pm 14th over: Great stop by Rohit Sharma from the first ball of the over - turns a possible 4 into a dot ball.
Mascarenhas keeps the scoreboard ticking, just about.
6:23pm 13th over: Nudging singles from England... until Pietersen pounces on one and he doesn't even feign running there - that was in the Grand Stand from the minute it left his bat. Six!
Next ball and the England talisman is out! He dropped to one knee but just got pad on it... LBW.
England 92-3 - Pietersen - LBW b. Jadeja - 46
6:18pm 12th over: Ishant Sharma replaces Harbhajan at the Pavilion End. Two Hampshire team-mates at the crease for England, both big-hitters. England could use some of that now.
Just ones and twos from it, a decent over by Sharma.
6:17pm Your emails - lots of the England players have nicknames but they’re pretty tame ones: Paul ‘Colly’ Collingwood; Kevin ‘KP’ Pietersen - hardly inventive are they? We’re sure you can come up with better.
Our best effort: Dimitri "Smash"carenhas. Send us yours: Live@Lords.org
6:13pm 11th over: Halfway point and England are 71-1. Ravindra Jadeja on to bowl at the Nursery End.
Jadeja's got the wicket! Bopara tried to give himself room but just made room for Jadeja to bowl him!
England 74-2 - Bopara - b. Jadeja - 37
6:09pm 10th over: "Oooohs" from the crowd as at the last minute Pietersen switches stance... but Harbhajan just holds onto the ball and doesn't bowl it! Bull and matador stuff.
6:06pm 9th over: Nicely picked up off his toes by Pietersen and worked into the on side. A half-hearted chase by Zaheer means it runs for four.
6:00pm 8th over: Time for some spin - Harbhajan Singh on at the Pavilion End. A three from Bopara brings up the fifty partnership too.
Pietersen wants two there but Bopara sends him back. You get the feeling "KP" always like even numbers - it means he's on strike next ball. Unless it's near the end of the over of course!
6:00pm 7th over: Yuvraj Singh on to bowl at the Nursery End now. A rapturous welcome from the India fans.
And a warm welcome for that from the England fans! First ball of the over and Bopara nails it for four.
Pietersen adds another four from the last over, clipping it wide of the man at backward short leg. That brings up 50 for England (51 in fact).
5:54pm 6th over: The umpires seem unhappy with the ball - they're both examining it. Maybe Ravi damaged it with that six?
Maybe not, the ball stays for now. Pietersen adjusts the sight screens... then advances down the wicket to Singh and thumps it back at the screens - four!
5:48pm 5th over: Nervous stuff from England - the odd flowing four but they seem accutely aware that losing another wicket this early could spell the end.
Ishant Sharma on to bowl. Pietersen lifting that one over the mid-on fielder for four runs - a well-timed shot.
That's another one - from Bopara this time a big pull into the on side and all the way... six! The first of the innings.
5:45pm 4th over: An uppish hook (more of a swat really) from Bopara brings up four more runs.
5:41pm 3rd over: The emergency call goes out to "KP" again. Can Pietersen save England this time?
First four of the innings from the first ball of the over - a leg-glance from Bopara beats the fielder to the rope.
Pietersen off the mark with an almost identical stroke - width offered from Khan and gladly taken by Pietersen for four runs.
5:36pm 2nd over: RP Singh is the opening bowler from the Pavilion End - every dot ball being cheered to the rafters by the India fans.
Wright's gone! He got underneath that one horribly, just lofting it way, way in the air. Yusuf Pathan taking the catch.
England 3-1 - Wright - c. Y. Pathan b. RP Singh - 1
5:30pm 1st over: Zaheer Khan will bowl the first over of the match, Ravi Bopara on strike.
First runs on the board... a wide from Zaheer. Followed by the first off the bat - a scrambled single.
5:29pm Both anthems well observed including a tub-thumping, sing-a-long from England skipper Paul Collingwood.
Send us your emails - I was just wondering about the numbers the players wear. I’m sure they all have a reason for them. Perhaps Paul Collingwood probably fancies himself as Newcastle’s next centre-half, wearing #5.
Which squad number would you wear and why? Live@Lords.org.
5:27pm The two team changes for India are: Out: seamer Irfan Pathan and spinner Pragyan Ojha. In: seamer RP Singh and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
England drop spinner Adil Rashid for the left-arm seam of Ryan Sidebottom.
5:20pm Ten minutes to go... the teams are massing in the famous Lord's Pavilion. We'll have the national anthems and then we'll be underway.
India opting to put England in - an interesting call. Real pressure on Paul Collingwood's side to set a good total.
5:14pm Unfounded fears earlier: Team news: Pietersen and Wright are both in for England:
England: Wright; Bopara; Pietersen; Shah; Collingwood; Mascarenhas; Foster; Swann; Broad; Sidebottom; Anderson.
India: Gambhir; Rohit Sharma; Raina; Yuvraj Singh; Dhoni; Pathan; Jadeja; Harbhajan Singh; Zaheer Khan; RP Singh; Ishant Sharma.
5:11pm Toss news: India win the toss and chose to field.
5:10pm Kevin Pietersen and Luke Wright are both sat on the England balcony... could that be a sign? They can't both be out - surely?
5:03pm Captain's in the middle - we'll have news of the toss soon.
5:01pm Is this the biggest match of the tournament so far? Or does it just feel like it? England vs. India, at Lord's - it's always a great occasion. But the extra pressure today, the loser knowing they're as good as out of the tournament - there's an extra jangle on the nerves today.
