England star Kevin Pietersen and MCC helped raise £15,000 for this year's BBC appeal for Children in Need.

Pietersen offered for auction a "money can't buy prize" with all proceeds going to the annual Children in Need appeal.

MCC and Lord's were delighted to be able to help.

The auction 'lot' was:

For one lucky bidder and five friends:

  • A coaching session in the MCC Indoor School nets at Lord's the Home of Cricket with the great cricket hero Kevin Pietersen
  • Kevin will then give them a private tour of the world-famous ground
  • He’ll take them to lunch in the Players' Dining Room where they’ll be cooked for by the Players' Chef, who’s also cooked for the Queen
  • They’ll then be taken behind the scenes in the historic dressing rooms
  • And they’ll leave the amazing day with signed memorabilia

This and many other fantastic lots will be available in the 'Things Money Can't Buy' Auction on Sir Terry Wogan's BBC Radio Two show: 7:30-9:30 from November 16-19.

The 'Pietersen prize' went under the hammer on Monday 16 - with the winning bid bringing in £15,000 for a great cause.

If £15,000 is a little rich for your pocket, you can book your own Tour of Lord's - prices start at £8. Open-ended tickets make great gifts.

We cannot promise Kevin Pietersen will be there but our expert tour guides can offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of cricket's most famous venue.
