Date released: 20 June 2006
Today (Tuesday) MCC is hosting in its Indoor Cricket School at Lord’s the National Table Cricket Finals, for children with disabilities, organized by the Lord’s Taverners.
Indian batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar, was on hand to pass on some tips, meet the participants and have a go at batting.
In another boost for cricket fans with disabilities, MCC will launch, tomorrow, a pioneering new commentary service for the benefit of blind and partially sighted cricket spectators at Lord's.
The Club's initiative - the first of its kind in English cricket - will provide visually impaired fans with ball-by-ball commentaries on every match to be played at 'the home of cricket' from tomorrow onwards.
