The Ken Barrington Cup
Date released: 7 August 2008
North Middlesex, Yateley and Leamington are leading the way as the MCC Spirit of Cricket Under 13 Club Championship reaches its halfway point at Oakham School.
After a total washout on Tuesday 5 August, eight games were played on Wednesday 6 August.
The representatives from the Home Counties, South & South East and the West Midlands have all won two matches going into the second half of the tournament.

Early leaders: North Middlesex Under-13s lead at halfway stage Local to Lord's team, North Middlesex, head the table by virtue of a superior run-rate.
Barton-under-Needwood and Sheringham have both won one match with Old Northamptonians, Wakefield Thornes and Hatherleigh yet to record a win.
Already the tournament has seen several stellar performances.
Leamington’s Mark Best, who is aiming to emulate older brother Paul who won the competition with the same team in 2004, scored 32* and took 4-22 versus Wakefield Thornes and followed it up with 30* and 3-19 against Hatherleigh.
The best bowling analysis has been recorded by Yateley’s Jake Wood, who took 4-7 off his four overs against Hatherleigh.

Barton-under-Needwood Under-13s won a thriller against Sheringham The match of the competition so far was the nail-biter between Barton-under-Needwood and Sheringham which saw Barton emerge as winners by one run off the final ball of the match.
Barton-under-Needwood managed to defend their score of 89-3, despite Sheringham’s Callum Taylor hitting 34*.
Three stumpings by wicket-keeper Michael Graves off left-arm spinner Callum Brodrick saw the team from Derbyshire through.
The competition is heating up with plenty of games still to come. You can find out the latest news on Lords.org.
