Three Tests at Lord's in 2010
Date released: 11 September 2009
In 2010 and for only the second time in its 195 year history, Lord’s will host three Test matches in a single season.
An announcement made today by the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that England will take on Bangladesh and Pakistan at Lord’s next year.
In addition, Pakistan and Australia will play each other in a neutral Test match at Lord's.

Delighted: MCC’s Secretary & Chief Executive Keith Bradshaw MCC has expressed its delight at being awarded three Test matches in a season. Keith Bradshaw, MCC’s Secretary & Chief Executive, said:
"MCC supports the view that Test cricket is the pinnacle of the game, which is why we bid competitively to secure all Test matches that were on offer.
"In particular, I am thrilled that Bangladesh will be visiting the Home of Cricket and maintaining the tradition of overseas teams playing at Lord’s.
"There has been much talk of a potential day/night Test match being held at Lord’s next season between England and Bangladesh.
"MCC has made significant strides in the development of a pink ball and we remain hopeful that further match trials will be conducted here in England in the next few weeks and also overseas throughout the winter.
"I would stress, however, that we would not want to jeopardise the integrity of Test match cricket by using untested or unproven coloured balls."
"MCC submitted a high bid for a neutral Test match in order to offer practical assistance to the Pakistan Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council.

Coming back to Lord's: Australia's Ricky Ponting "It will be an honour for MCC to host a neutral Test match between two great cricketing nations, Australia and Pakistan - especially since Pakistan has been deprived of Test cricket in recent years.
"To see outstanding players such as Ricky Ponting, Younis Khan, Michael Clarke and Mohammad Yousuf compete at Lord’s will be extremely exciting to all cricket fans."
The last time Lord’s hosted three Test matches in a single year was in 1912, when England, Australia and South Africa contested a triangular tournament.
This will be first time that Pakistan will play a neutral Test match at Lord’s.
In 1954 they played an international first-class match against Canada - winning by an innings and 67 runs.
