After a slow start, England clinched a 2-1 Series victory in New Zealand. Back on home turf, they'll be confident of more victories.

But the Black Caps will come their tails up and star players fresh from the Indian Premier League - whether that will help or hinder will only become clearer later.

Open season

The cricket season officially opens with the traditional curtain-raiser, MCC v Champion County, this time, Sussex.

Several England hopefuls will feature in MCC's team - perhaps some of them could play their way into consideration with a good performance at 'The Home of Cricket'?
