Opportunity arises

"I'd love to play here at Lord's in May [against the West Indies] - I love playing at Lord's, I've got six hundreds here.

Vaughan: 'I know I'm good enough - it's just waiting for the opportunity'
"I feel very much at home whenever I turn up here so I'd love to play in that Test Match. I'll have to score some runs, start the season well and wait and see.

"When you're out of the team a lot of it is out of your control - you're basically waiting on players losing form or getting injuries. You just have to make sure you're playing well.

"The only way I'll get back in is getting my head down with Yorkshire.

"I know I'm good enough to get back into the team, it's just if that opportunity arises.

"Funny things happen in cricket. You're only ever one performance or a bit of luck away from getting into the England team.

Lord's: 'I could live here'

Vaughan went on to talk about his memories of Lord's and tackled the question of two Test Matches at 'The Home of Cricket':

"Every time I turn up here I feel I'm going to get a hundred. I always feel comfortable here - I could live here actually!

"One of my favourite hundreds here was against New Zealand last year.

"I was struggling a little bit at the time, so to come out and score a hundred when you know you're struggling, under a lot of pressure - it makes you proud to know you withstood the mental test.

"One of the toughest things as a sportsman is performing when you know you're not right. Mentally, technically I wasn't in a great position at that stage so I fought... and got a hundred.

Two Tests at Lord's?

"Yes, Lord's should have a special place when it comes to distributing Test Matches. I think it's fantastic, it's 'The Home of Cricket'.

"The facilities are great, the food, the practice facilities, the wicket, the crowd - you can add a lot of things.

"It's got history, tradition, it's a magnificent arena. I just think it's important we keep that.

"I just think it's a great place to play cricket."
