"A lot of the guys are looking to progress their careers by performing well and getting into the England team.
"Everyone in the team will be looking at this as a showcase and a chance to go out and perform really well.
"This isn't just a pre-season jolly for us - we want to try and force the issue and win if we can. We're playing against the County Champions and they're one of the favourites to win it again. If we can knock any dents in their confidence it will do all of us a lot of good for all our counties.
"But this is more to do with individuals sticking their hands up and giving themselves the best opportunity of playing for England this summer.
"Most of the players in the team will feel they have a chance of playing in the Tests, Twenty20, in the Ashes - that's what we're looking at.
"My ambition hasn't changed since January [Vaughan's last exclusive interview with Lords.org] I'd love to play in the Test Match here against the West Indies.
"The only way I'm going to do that is by scoring runs and I'm sure scoring a lot of runs this week would do my chances no harm at all.

Bell, Key & Vaughan: Shoot-out for number three slot? "You could say the same for Rob Key and Ian Bell, Stephen Moore - there is a nice blend of youth and experience trying to push their way into the England team.
"The number three slot [for England] looks vacant. I've played well there in the past, Bell's had a go there - I'm trying not to look too far ahead. I've just got to play as well as I can.
Asked about the right blend of skills for a number three Vaughan's response was simple:
"Someone who can score runs."
