Chris Mallaband

Growing up in Fleet, Hampshire, Chris Mallaband developed a love for cricket which was unfortunately not matched by a talent to play it.

Instead, he spent many happy childhood days watching county matches at Northlands Road, Southampton before heading for university at Loughborough in 1996, graduating with a degree in Management Science in 2000.

Chris lives in Chester, and is currently the Lancashire C.C.C. correspondent for BBC local radio in the North West, reporting and commentating for BBC Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio Manchester, and BBC Radio Merseyside.

He spends his winters commentating on football and rugby, and, amongst other stations, has also worked for Radio City in Liverpool, and TalkSPORT.

His broadcasting highlights to date are commentating on Champions League football, reporting on the 2008 Old Trafford Test Match, and putting a question to Tiger Woods after his 2006 Open Championship victory at Hoylake.
