Ian Cowdroy

Cricket has been a passion of Ian Cowdroy’s since the summer of 1961 when he admired the exploits of Richie Benaud’s Australian touring team.

He played with enthusiasm (and rather less skill) at school, and then village cricket in Kent for about 25 years. With Underriver CC, and other clubs, he visited Holland, France, Portugal, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

Playing days over, Ian took the ACUS exams, and has umpired at school and village level. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, and retired from his career occupation in 2006; he now works for the Royal London Society for the Blind.
