Home Lord's voted no. 1 Test ground
The Cricketer Magazine has voted Lord's the best place to watch Test cricket in the world, after a survey of journalists, broadcasters, photographers and fans.
The magazine described Lord's as "the obvious choice and also the unanimous choice" for the number one spot, declaring it "the alpha and omega of cricket venues.
"It is the venue upon which every cricket player yearns to leave his mark on. Those famous honours boards are as notable for their absentees - Warne, Tendulkar, Muralitharan - as for those present."
The poll, which can be read in the May 2012 edition of The Cricketer, identifies the top 26 Test grounds in the world.
Two other English grounds, Trent Bridge (5) and The Oval (19) also feature. Lord's beat off the challenge of Newlands, Cape Town and the Adelaide Oval for the top spot.
Grounds from all ten Test playing nations are featured in the list.
