A.M. Rahane 103 v EnglandBack to boards

Ajinkya Rahane stroked his way onto the Lord's Honours Board with a stylish hundred on his Lord's debut in the 2nd Test of the England v India 2014 series.

After India were put into bat by England, all eyes were on the talented Virat Kohli to see if he could write his name into Lord’s folklore, but instead it was Rahane who showed his class during the Test with a superb display that helped India go from 83/3 to 295 all out at the end of their first innings.

Rahane hit 103 runs off 154 balls, scoring 15 fours and a six during his knock which would prove to be crucial in India securing their first win at Lord’s for 28 years.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s five-weicket haul and Ishant Sharma’s seven-wickets during England’s second innings on Day Five sealed a famous and memorable victory for India by 95 runs.
