D. Gough 5-44 v AustraliaBack to boards

Darren Gough took five wickets, including all of Australia’s top four, as England wrapped up a 3-0 ODI series victory in the lead up to the 1997 Ashes.

Mark Waugh top scored for Australia with 95 as they were dismissed in the 50th over for 269. Gough proved not only England’s most potent bowler but their most economical too, taking 5-44 from his 10 overs.

Half-centuries from Alec Stewart, Ben Hollioake, and John Crawley were enough to see England home with six deliveries to spare, securing their third six-wicket win of the three match series.
