Managing Director, Surrey Cricket

Surrey County Cricket Club wish to appoint a Managing Director to build for Surrey Cricket’s future, by overseeing all professional, development and recreational
cricket programmes in the County.

Based at the historic Brit Oval cricket ground, Surrey Cricket is responsible for all aspects of cricket within South London and Surrey, and with its history of sporting excellence it has produced many outstanding cricketers for Club and Country. The Club is seeking to maintain its premier status by appointing an individual to plan for and deliver a successful future for Surrey Cricket. This is a strategic role, with responsibility for developing a unified cricket culture for all aspects of the game in Surrey.

The Role

Sitting on both the Surrey Cricket and Kennington Oval Ltd. boards, the post of Managing Director of Surrey Cricket will be responsible for the following areas:

• Setting and delivering all cricket related budgets and targets within the organisation
• Representing and promoting cricket within the Surrey Cricket group of companies
• Promoting Surrey Cricket through relationships with the ECB, sponsors, commercial partners, businesses, schools, clubs, leagues and other related agencies
• In conjunction with the Chief Executive, setting and delivering KPI’s for the Cricket Department

The Person

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a minimum of 2 years’ playing experience at First Class level, as well as a minimum of 5 years’ senior management experience. A professional
management qualification and experience of working in the leisure industry is preferred.
