Sales Manager
MCC is seeking to recruit a Sales Manager, for its busy and award winning Meeting & Events Department.
Main purpose of the job:
Management of Meeting & Events Sales team and the creation and execution of the annual Meeting & Events sales plan. To implement key sales and enable business growth.
Responsible for proactively promoting Lord's Cricket Ground as a major Meeting & Events venue by liaising with potential clients and providing them with accurate, efficient information which is bespoke to their event. Focus on financial delivery and quality standards.
Main tasks will include:
- To grow, develop and lead the Events Sales Team on a day to day basis
- To create and implement the sales marketing strategy for the Meeting & Events department
- To contact and meet with prospective clients with a view to generating new event enquiries
- To manage and lead activities focused on the expansion of business (in line with and in order to achieve overall Meetings & Events annual financial targets)
- To manage the conversion of enquiries for new and existing clients into confirmed business
- Have an in-depth knowledge of competitor venues and take part in Meetings & Events exhibitions and promotional events as required
Personal specification:
- Passionate about working in the events industry with ability to achieve and maintain an exceptional level of service at all times.
- Proven experience, with at least 4 years experience in a venue environment
- To have worked at a large capacity venue; 200 plus with 4/5 star standards
- Strong decision making and negotiation techniques
- Tact, discretion and the ability to work quickly under pressure
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- High standard of personal presentation
- Flexibility in working hours
