Courses offered to MCC Young Cricketers

• ECB Level 1 and 2 Cricket coaching - The basic coaching courses for cricket

• YMCA Gym Instructor Level 1 and 2 - Those who successfully pass this course may work in a gym, at Level 2, unsupervised

• Basketball coaching award - The basic award for basketball coaching

• Community Sports Leader course - a basic award for coaching sports with children

• FA Football Coaching Award - The basic course for football coaching

• Health and Safety Certificate

• IT - This depends on the level of knowledge of the individual Young Cricketer, and does not give any formal qualification.

• Umpiring - An insight into umpiring with emphasis on Spirit of Cricket and knowledge of the Laws

• Scoring - The basics of scoring

• Groundsmanship - A one-day course which looks at pitch preparation and maintenance

• First Aid - A one day course which looks at sports injuries and emergency first aid

• Drugs - A talk on the dangers of drugs and the testing procedure

• Finance - The basics on bank accounts and personal budgeting

• Dealing with the Press

• Career Guidance - Job applications, CVs and interview technique

• Child Protection - Statutory course for those working with children
