Monty Panesar is one of the world's leading left-arm spinners and a graduate of Loughborough MCCU.
Known for his hard work and enthusiasm for the game, Panesar’s game benefitted from three years spent perfecting his metronomic action while studying in the East Midlands under former Loughborough coach and England bowler Graham Dilley.
Panesar graduated with a degree in Computing in Management in 2005, and less than a year later had been drafted into the England squad for the tour of India, where he established himself as his country’s number one spinner with a succession of excellent performances.
Graeme Swann’s arrival in the England team has knocked Monty into second place in the pecking order, but he remains a regular tourist and first-choice back-up for Swann in the Test arena, in addition to leading the Sussex attack.
