MCCU Combined XI

In addition to the opportunities MCC University students gain playing against first-class counties at the start of the season for their own university centre, some are also chosen to play in the MCCU Combined XI which takes part in the 2nd IX County Championship in the second half of the summer.

While many MCCU students have existing relationships or are signed by counties, the creme of those not involved with professional teams have the chance to place themselves in the shop window at the end of term time.

Former England and Middlesex batsman Clive Radley coaches the squad, who in recent years have also taken part in pre-season trips to the UAE, where they take on both the first-class counties and MCC Young Cricketers.

In 2013 MCCU Combined players Charlie Ellison and Alex MacQueen were also given the opportunity to play alongside Rahul Dravid for the full MCC team in the Emirates Airline t20 competition in Dubai.
