MCC and the Pepsi IPL have combined for the sixth successive year to ensure that the 2013 IPL tournament is played in the right spirit.
The sixth edition of the IPL starts today, when 2012 winners, Kolkata Knight Riders, host Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens.
Prior to this match, each of the ten participating teams signed the “Captain’s Charter” during the opening ceremony of the competition, which serves to ensure all players uphold the MCC Spirit of Cricket, “Play Hard, Play Fair” principles throughout the tournament.
One of those captains is Rajasthan Royals' Rahul Dravid. The India great has just represented MCC in the UAE at the Emirates Airline t20 tournament.
Similar to previous years, a 20 second MCC Spirit of Cricket animated advert will also be broadcast in-ground at all matches.
