Former England fast bowler Andy Caddick kicked off proceedings for the second day of the Investec Test with New Zealand on 17 May by ringing the bell in the famous Lord’s Pavilion.
“I wish I was 27 again, and I wish I was out there playing. It’s always lovely to be here“, Caddick told Lord’s TV.
“It’s a great honour to ring the bell, especially in an England New Zealand Test Match.”
'I wish I was out there'
Caddick was born in New Zealand and even played for New Zealand Young Cricketers before moving to England.
“It’s great to see there is a good level of cricket between the two sides with New Zealand being my birth place.”
Caddick famously took 5-16 in a Test match at Lord’s in 2000 and secured his second spot on the Honours Board with 5-101 against the Australians at the Home of Cricket.
The ex-Somerset fast bowler played 62 Test matches and 54 ODIs for England.
