Finn takes four on first day at Lord's Published: 13 April 2014

Half-centuries from James Taylor, Steven Mullaney and Riki Wessels saw Nottinghamshire shade the first day of the LV=CC match against Middlesex at Lord's.

With Lord's basking in sunshine on the first matchday of the season at the Home of Cricket, Notts captain Chris Read had no hesitation in choosing to bat, and he would have been pleased by the application shown by his charges.

While Steven Finn and James Harris took four wickets apiece, a late flurry of runs from Australian Test player and Notts debutant Peter Siddle meant that the visitors closed on an impressive 315/8.
