Fraser appointed as England selector

MCC Committee member and former England bowler Angus Fraser has been appointed an England selector.

Fraser, who will remain in his role as Middlesex Director of Cricket, will join Ashley Giles and James Whitaker on the selection panel.

Fraser was elected to the Main Committee of MCC in October 2012, and also sits on the Club’s Cricket committee.

In 2002 Fraser became an MCC Honorary Life Member.

The 48-year-old played 46 Tests and 42 ODIs for England in an international career that spanned almost a decade. He appears twice on the Lord’s Honours Board after taking two five-wicket hauls, against India in 1990 and West Indies in 1995.

Fraser played all of his county cricket for Middlesex, representing them from 1984 to 2002, serving as county captain from 2001 until his retirement the following year.
