Middlesex are searching for someone to be their new Pinky the Panther mascot for NatWest T20 Blast matches this season.
The county are looking for applicants to send in entries for the role of Pinky, who will entertain crowds in four T20 Blast matches at Lord’s this summer, as well as matches at the KIA Oval, Richmond and Merchant Taylors’ School.
The lucky winner chosen to step into the pink suit will also take part in the Mascot Derby at T20 Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday 23 August, and will receive two free tickets to every home Middlesex Panthers T20 Blast games this season.
Entrants, who must be over 18, need to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating in less than 50 words why they should become Pinky. The closing date for applications is midday on Friday 28 March.
Pinky will play a key role in entertaining the crowd at Middlesex home matches, which includes the first domestic T20 double-header, when Middlesex host both Essex and Sussex on Saturday 17 May.
The winner of the competition will have a lot to live up to after the success of Pinky since his introduction in 2010, including an unbeaten season in mascot races in 2011, and captaining North London to back-to-back titles in the London Derby, held at the KIA Oval.
