Chris Tremlett, Mark Nicholas and Charlotte Edwards will join 600 primary schoolchildren from around the country, alongisde local Westminster schools, for a joint Chance to Shine/MCC Spirit of Cricket open day at Lord's Cricket Ground.
The day will inspire children to play and learn through cricket and to reinforce the MCC Spirit of Cricket message of ‘Play Hard, Play Fair’.
The day will start with the children taking over the famous Pavilion benches being taken over by children for a special cricketing assembly. Out on the field Mark Nicholas, Chris Tremlett and Charlotte Edwards will take an assembly on the importance of playing sport in the right sprit.
The children will then take part in a range of cricketing and educational opportunities across the Ground, including the chance for the children to play on the main outfield, alongside taking part in activities such as a cooking lesson in the Lord’s kitchens and tapeball cricket on the Real Tennis Court.
The children will also have some very special coaches on hand with eight members of the Ashes winning England women’s team - Tammy Beaumont, Kate Cross, Charlotte Edwards, Lydia Greenway, Jenny Gunn, Danielle Hazell, Heather Knight and Lauren Winfield - helping to coach the children throughout the day.
