Whatever happens in Australia this winter Ricky Ponting won’t be able to get his hands on the real Urn, which is on permanent display at the Lord’s Museum.

The ancient teracotta urn is too fragile to be presented to the winning captain. On such occasions a replica urn is used.

The Museum, including the current exhibition "Swinging Away: How cricket and baseball connect" is open Monday to Friday all winter, with weekend openings available on request.

Official Lord’s Tours

The Museum is also the starting point for the famous official Lord’s Tour, which offers visitors the chance to see the player’s dressing rooms, the iconic Media Centre, Pavilion and much more.
