Stephenson on ICC Cricket Committee Published: 18 April 2012

John Stephenson has joined the ICC Cricket Committee for the 2012-14 term as MCC's representative, replacing Keith Bradshaw.

Stephenson is Head of Cricket at Lord's. His appointment to the committee was confirmed at the ICC's executive board meeting in Dubai.

The ICC Cricket Committee is currently chaired by Sir Clive Lloyd, former captain of the West Indies, who will continue in the role until the ICC Annual Conference in June.

The Committee comprises current and past players, as well as a representative for umpires, match referees, women's cricket, associate cricket, the media, the memebers' board, statisticians and MCC.

The remit of the ICC Cricket Committee is to discuss and consult on any cricket-playing matters and to formulate recommendations to the ICC's Chief Executives Committee which relate to cricket-playing matters.

Stephenson is also Secretary to the World Cricket committee, made up of current and former players, which operates as an independent 'think-tank' on the game.
