Home Strauss and Finn on Middlesex duty
Andrew Strauss and Steven Finn are available for Middlesex’s upcoming LV County Championship matches at Lord’s against Durham and Worcestershire.
The centrally contracted England duo have been clearance to play for their county by the ECB ahead of the first Test against the West Indies at Lord’s, starting on 17 May.
Strauss is also available for the CB40 match against Gloucestershire at the Home of Cricket on 7 May while Finn’s chances of appearing in that match will depend on his workload in previous matches and possible selection for England Lions.
The matches will be important for Strauss in particular, after a winter in which he has come under fire as England slumped to four defeats in five Tests.
Strauss is without a Test century in 50 innings and will relish the chance to bat at Lord's, which has been one of his most prolific grounds at both international and domestic level.
Finn meanwhile will be desperate to further push his claim to be an England Test regular, after making one Test appearance this winter in the recent victory over Sri Lanka in Colombo.
