CB Fry: blue plaque to be unveiled outside his birthplace on his birthday - Monday 25th April

An English Heritage blue plaque is to be unveiled outside the birthplace of C.B. Fry - the great sporting all-rounder, cricket-writer and former England batsman.

The plaque will be unveiled by his grandson, Charles Fry (right), MCC's Chairman, on Monday morning - 133 years, to the day, after the birth of 'CB', who captained England at cricket, represented his country at football and also equalled the world long-jump record.

The event will take place at 11 o'clock on Monday morning, at 144 St James's Road in Croydon.
