The Lord's ticket office received tens of thousands of ballot applications.

Most are still being processed but they now have a clearer idea of which matches (and days) will be over-subscribed and which will have tickets left over.

Successful ballot applicants will be contacted within the next month. As per the ballot terms & conditions:

"After the completion of the ballots, tickets will be allocated to successful applicants. For administrative reasons, applicants are asked not to enquire before Thursday 16 April 2009, as to the precise outcome of their applications.

Please do not contact the ticket office. Ticket sales are being processed online only - so the ticket office can process the ballot applications as quickly as possible.

Tickets available

Half of the available days of the West Indies Test match (6-10 May) are already over-subscribed but tickets are still available for the first two days.

You can buy a ticket for the first day, of the first Test match at Lord's this year. See the first Test cricket of the new season - at The Home of Cricket.

The first four days of the England v Australia Test are hugely over-subscribed too and tickets for the two England v Australia one-day internationals at Lord's in September could have been sold many times over.

Lord's never usually sells tickets for the fifth day of a Test match, in case the match finishes before reaching a fifth day.

However, on this rare 'Ashes' occassion the fifth day was made available and not all the tickets have been snapped up in the ballot.

You can buy your ticket online now - guaranteeing yourself some Ashes-action at Lord's... if the match goes to a fifth day.

If the match is concluded before the fifth day your money will be refunded.

There are also tickets available for the Friends Provident Trophy Final and a host of Middlesex Twenty20 Cup matches and the floodlit Pro40 match.
