MCC doing its bit for charities
Date released: 7 August 2008
It has already been a busy summer of cricket at Lord's - but there's more than cricket at 'The Home of Cricket', with MCC doing their bit to help some deserving charities.
Back in early June, Chance to Shine invited 4,000 children from state schools to visit Lord's.
The children came from over 100 different schools. Most had never visited a cricket ground before, let alone 'The Home of Cricket'.
The children watched the LV County Championship match between Middlesex and Essex; visited the MCC Museum and enjoyed the Spirit of Cricket Factory too.
Mackenzie Lemon (11) and Sahil Shah (11) from Fair Field Junior School in Hertfordshire, were picked as mascots for the official coin toss with Middlesex's Ed Smith and Essex's Mark Pettini.
