New scorers' box installed at Lord's
Date released: 19 April 2004
In the latest ground improvement project at Lord's, a new scorers' box has been installed in the gap between the Mound and Tavern stands.
It will be fully operational in time for next month's npower Test match (between England and New Zealand), and will provide scorers with much better facilities than the old box (in the Warner Stand) and an improved view of the playing area.
The current works will also enable an extra electronic scoreboard and around 45 additional seats to be installed.
Other recent ground improvements include the re-laying of the outfield and the refurbishment of the Lord's Tavern, while future plans include a multi-million pound project to restore the Pavilion to pristine condition in time for the 2005 season - when the teams visiting Lord's will include Australia and, for the first time, Bangladesh.
