Welcome to the Lord’s Community Group (LCG) web pages.

About Lord’s Community Group

An aerial view of Lord'sThe Lord’s Community Group was set up in 2009 as an informal consultation group and conduit between MCC and the local communities around the ground.

It has three main purposes:

  • To enable MCC to brief local people on operational issues, new items of relevance or proposals for changes at the ground.
  • To provide a forum at which to present and discuss planning issues at Lord’s
  • To allow MCC to inform local people of forthcoming events and forward planning

The group also provides an opportunity for residents to report issues and problems so MCC can seek to resolve these directly or through the relevant body.

Where these issues are outside the club’s control MCC will be responsible for raising the matter with the relevant statutory body or/and cricket authority – e.g. Westminster City Council, Transport for London, Metropolitan Police, England & Wales Cricket Board and Middlesex County Cricket Club. Representatives from these bodies regularly attend LCG meetings.

There are currently over 20 LCG members, each of whom represents an apartment block, street or local amenity/resident group. The meetings are chaired by one of the three local ward councillors.
