Home Thomas makes Kent debut
Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities bowler Ivan Thomas has made his full Kent debut after helping his University to a famous win against Sussex.
The 20-year-old was included in the starting XI for Kent's LV County Championship match against Essex at Chelmsford after making an excellent start to the season.
Thomas took 6/21 in 16 accurate second innings overs as Leeds/Bradford completed a 79-run win at Weetwood Playing Fields, Leeds.
He also impressed since his first-class debut for Leeds/Bradford earlier in the season, taking five wickets at an average of 20.00 in two appearances.
His strong form has earned the right-arm medium-fast bowler a place in a Kent squad who have made an excellent start to the season in division two.
Thomas has played extensively for Kent at youth level and in the second XI, where he played during the 2011 season.
He also played two one-day warm-up matches for the county before the start of the 2012 season, against Surrey and Glamorgan.
