Former England captain Tony Greig will deliver the 2012 MCC Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture from 6.30pm.
Greig has a tough act to follow after Kumar Sangakkara's impassioned speech on the game in his native Sri Lanka in 2011 caught the imagination of the cricketing public.
Greig has a cricketing pedigree few can match, with almost 50 years of experience in the game as a player and broadcaster.
His speech has the potential to touch upon some of the most fascinating, controversial and emotive events to have taken place in the game since Greig made his Sussex debut in 1965.
Since its inception in 2001 the Cowdrey Lecture has hosted addresses from eminent figures in the game - from Imran Khan to Archbishop Desmond Tutu to Adam Gilchrist.
Named in memory former England batsman and MCC President Lord Cowdrey, the Lecture is a platform for the game's finest names to project their take on all aspects of cricket to the public.
Following the speech, a panel discussion will take place, chaired by Mark Nicholas and featuring Greig alongside his former England teammate Derek Underwood and current England Twenty20 skipper Stuart Broad.
Lords.org will be covering the 2012 event in full, with a live blog in operation throughout the day, featuring behind the scenes pictures and interviews, as well as live audio of the speech.
Full video coverage of the entire event, including the speech and panel discussion, will be uploaded overnight, ready to watch on the following day.
