Emergency Services Exercise carried out at Lord’s Cricket Ground

Posted: 30 March 2019

MCC carried out a security exercise with the emergency services to test the evacuation procedures of Lord’s Cricket Ground, on Saturday 30th March.

The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade took part in the multi-agency test, arriving at the Ground to deal with a range of simulation incidents, ensuring that robust security measures are in place ahead of the cricket season.

The live exercise was coordinated with MCC Ground Superintendent and Safety Officer, Jeff Cards, and MCC Head of Security, Jon Williams.

Mr. Cards has commended the operation as a success, saying “The safety and security of all visitors, and staff coming to Lord’s remains the Club’s priority as we approach one of our biggest ever years of cricket. With the cooperation of the emergency services, this test put our plans through their paces and I am confident of the measures that are in place.”

In the event of an incident on a match day, information will be available from the Metropolitan Police Twitter account at @metpoliceuk.
