We are delighted to confirm that three men’s international fixtures at Lord’s for 2022 have today been announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
New Zealand, India and South Africa will all visit the Home of Cricket to face England next year, with the Black Caps arriving for a Test encounter for the second summer running.
Kane Williamson’s New Zealanders taking on England will be the first international action of the season at Lord’s, taking place between Thursday 2 and Monday 6 June.
In this year’s clash, the hosts held on for a draw against a New Zealand side who went on to defeat India in the ICC World Test Championship Final.
On Thursday 14 July, India will be the visitors taking on England in a One-Day International at Lord’s. The sides last met in the 50-over format at the Ground in 2018 when a superb unbeaten century from Joe Root helped England to an 86-run victory.
South Africa will be the second Test opponents of the summer for England at Lord’s, when the sides lock horns between Wednesday 17 and Sunday 21 August.
It will be the Proteas’ first Test series in England since 2017. The hosts were victorious at Lord’s that year, winning by 211 runs in Root’s first match as England captain which he marked with an innings of 190.
The ECB remains in discussions with key stakeholders regarding the 2022 England Women’s home schedule and the overall structure of the men’s and women’s domestic seasons, which will be announced in due course.
