What is a Debenture?

There’s no place like the Home of Cricket. Steeped in over 200 years of history, Lord’s is the most famous cricket ground in the world.

Major match days at Lord’s are often oversubscribed. The purchase of a Debenture guarantees the holder the right to buy a ticket for his or her own designated seat for these matches (as well as for certain other matches that the M.C.C. Committee may specify from time to time) for four or eight Cricket Seasons, depending upon the type of Debenture.

The current Ticket Rights Period of Debentures in the Upper Mound Stand and the Upper Grand Stand expires on 31st October 2018.

The Club is now making a new offer of Four-Year and Eight-Year Mound Stand Gold, Mound Stand Silver, Grand Stand Silver and Grand Stand Bronze Debentures. Both the Upper Mound Stand and Upper Grand Stand offer superb views of Lord’s, with Debenture Holders having access to their own bar facilities on Debenture Match Days. In addition, Gold and Silver Debenture Holders in both stands have access to restaurant facilities on those days.

Other than guaranteeing the holder the right to buy a ticket for his or her own designated seat, the Debentures will be non-convertible, unsecured, non-interest bearing loans repayable in 75 years and will have the other rights and benefits set out in the Offer Document. The loan element of the Debentures is an unsecured debt of the Club and, accordingly, purchasing Debentures places a Debenture Holder’s capital at risk. The definitions set out in Section VI of the Offer Document apply equally to this webpage unless the context requires otherwise.

Applications are welcome from both individuals and corporate entities alike. The best way to ensure you apply for the type of Debenture that is right for you is to visit Lord’s on a bespoke tour of the two stands.

It's always a very special place. I felt that the emphasis was always about doing well here at the headquarters of the game.
