Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is one of the most celebrated clubs in the world. There are few that have made as big an impact on any sport, as MCC has made on cricket. MCC owns Lord’s Cricket Ground, has led the game for over 200 years and helped take it from a national pastime to a global obsession. Founded in 1787, MCC is recognised as the sole authority on the game’s Laws. There are approximately 18,000 Full and 5,000 Associate Members of MCC.

As well as hosting some of the most memorable international matches in history, Lord’s has recently hosted the finals of both the Men’s and Women’s ICC Cricket World Cup.
The key purpose of this role is to deliver MCC’s marketing, communications and digital plan and long-term strategy, whilst overseeing the brand and implementation across all areas of the business. The candidate will need to develop and execute key integrated marcomms campaigns across multiple platforms including digital.
Key duties include:
+ Management of the Marketing, Communications, Design and Digital team.
+ Work closely with the Commercial department and other key business functions to actively promote MCC and Lord’s cricket and non-cricketing projects and initiatives across multi-channels with shared objectives.
- + Oversee the Club’s brand identity across the business and with key projects.
- + Develop key relationships with stakeholders in the media and be proactive with communications plans and initiatives to maintain a strong and coherent corporate message, which adheres to our brand values.
- + Oversee our Internal and Membership communications plans.
- + Support in identifying new revenue streams for the Club, specifically via digital initiatives, including broadcast and content distribution.
The role sits on the Executive Management Board and has a dual reporting line into the Chief Executive and the Commercial Director. The candidate will be expected to attend all Executive and Main Committee meetings.
Required skills and expertise
+ Substantial and relevant marketing, communications and digital experience (either in house or agency).
+ Be a strategic marketer with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our customers and the diverse Lord’s offering, to be able to effectively market our products and services.
+ Relevant experience at a senior level in communications and working with the media.
+ A track record in building effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders including at Executive and Board level.
+ Demonstrable track record in managing agencies across the marketing mix and delivering multi-channel campaigns.
+ Have a background in sporting or cricketing marketing and communications.
