Lord’s owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (“MCC”) is one of the most iconic sports grounds in the world, known as the Home of Cricket in the UK and beyond. It’s the largest cricket ground in the country, regularly selling out its 28,500 capacity for major matches. 

The in-house Estates Team are responsible for both reactive and planned preventative maintenance, providing support to all cricket matches held at Lord’s as well as covering the Club’s extensive meeting and events business. 

MCC are looking for a competent plumber to join the Estates team on a full time basis to assist with the completion of planned preventative maintenance with regard to plumbing, heating and drainage systems and to provide reactive response to, and repair of, equipment when unforeseen failure occurs. 

Providing engineering support for day to day running of the ground and all major matches as well as covering minor matches and events on a rostered basis, meaning the successful applicant must be prepared to work outside normal working hours when required. 

Additionally, the job will entail installation of new equipment, systems or services as directed. Obtaining competitive quotations from suppliers for stores and equipment and assisting in establishing and controlling stores specifically for plumbing materials.

Required skills and experience 

Applicants are expected to have a City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 or equivalent as well as experience working in a similar environment and a working knowledge of statutory compliance such as Legionella.
