Health and Wellbeing

It is well documented that physical activity has vast benefits on health.

Regular physical activity in combination with a healthy lifestyle been shown to reduce the risk of various diseases for example Heart Disease, Obesity, Osteoarthritis and Type 2 Diabetes.

Regular exercise also has a positive impact on mental health and well-being. It has shown that sports and physical activity can:

  • Boost Self Esteem and Confidence
  • Improve Sleep
  • Improve Concentration
  • Reduce Depression
  • Improve cognition
  • Provide opportunities for social interaction

We are actively promoting good health and well-being, using cricket as a tool for creating positive changes.  Working with local partners, we aim to reduce inactivity especially in children and young adults.

Our focus is also on mental health and well-being. We are currently aspiring towards becoming the UK’s first Dementia Friendly Cricket Ground.

In addition to training staff and volunteers, we are hosting monthly reminiscence sessions for people living with dementia and their carers.
