MCC in China & Hong Kong Player Profiles

Below are the list of players and staff who are embarking on a tour with MCC to China & Hong Kong, beginning Monday 2 October. 

Mike Gatting (Manager) -  Former England and Middlesex captain. Ashes winner with England and former President of MCC. Mike has played and represented MCC since 1978 and is a Patron of Hong Kong Cricket Club.

Rupert Kitzinger (Captain), Bramhall CC- Seamer - Director of Coaching at Bramhall, CC in Cheshire and has been part of the England Development Programme coaching staff, working specifically as lead pace bowling coach with the U15s.

Yasir Arafat, Bromley CC, Seamer - Yasir has played all three formats of international cricket for Pakistan including 3 T20 World Cups, also have been playing county cricket for the last 12 years and represented various counties including Kent, Somerset, Surrey, Sussex, Lancashire and Hampshire. Currently the 3rd highest T20 wicket taker in the world.

Jonathan Crick, Neston CC, Batsman/Leg-spin - A leg-spinning all-rounder, Jonny plays cricket for Neston CC in the Cheshire County Premier League and it is his first MCC Tour. 

Jonathan Fawcett, East Molsley CC- SLA - Playing for East Molesey CC in the Surrey Championship, he has previously represented Cheshire CCC and has been a full member of MCC for four years. 

Chris Greaves, Batsman 

Jonathan Green, Bath Cricket Club- All-Rounder - In his fourth year as an MCC Member, Jonathan currently plays as a bowling all-rounder for Bath CC in the West of England Premier League. This is his first tour with MCC.

Simon Guy, Sheffield Collegiate CC, Batsman/WK - A former player for Yorkshire CCC for 16 years, Simon brings a lot of experience to the Tour and has worked recently with England 17s, 19s & Women as a coach while also working as Director of Cricket Performance at Denstone College. 

Hassan Khan, Finchley CC- Batsman/Seamer - Born and raised in Australia, Hassan has been in the UK for eight years and currently players for Finchley Cricket Club in the Middlesex County League. 

Steve Snell, North Mymms CC- Batsman/WK - Steve played for Gloucestershire and Somerset during his career and is now Second-Team coach and Academy Director at Somerset CCC.

Oliver Soames, Plumtree CC- Batsman - A former member of Hampshire Academy, Oliver has previous experience with Loughborough where he scored 304 runs at an average of 60.80 including 124* against Durham. 

Alexis Twigg, Beckwithshaw Cricket Club, Batsman - A Member of MCC since 2015, Alexis has represented Cheshire and Harrogate Cricket Club before playing for a local side due to work commitments. 

Edward Wharton, Reed CC, Seamer - An opening bowler, Ed played a part in Reed CC's victorious National Village Cup campaign, where they overcame Sessay in the final at Lord's earlier in September. 

Anthony Wilkinson, Brondesbury CC- Batsmen/Off-spin - On his third Tour, Anthony has mostly played cricket for Brondesbury CC in the Middlesex League. in addition, he has also represented the Universities of London & Oxford. 

Kevin Beaumont (Umpire) - Kevin has been umpiring since the age of 16 and is currently umpiring in the Home Counties Premier League. 

Russ Dickinson (Scorer) -  14 years retired from the Metropolitan Police, Russ has been involved with the Northamptonshire County Premier League as a scorer for the last 20 years.
