Jamie Oliver set for Lord's debut

Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts has won a three-year contract to be the sole public caterer at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Starting with the first Investec Test Match between England and New Zealand, Fabulous Feasts will take over the Lord’s Food Village on 16 May 2013, and serve food at every major fixture throughout the summer.

Jamie Oliver said he was thrilled that JOFF had won the contract: "It's a real honour," said the internationally renowned chef.

"Lord’s is such a historic place and I can't wait for people to see what we've got planned. It's going to be match-day food like you'd never expect; we’re talking big flavour, lots of choice, and dishes that are guaranteed to put a big smile on your face.

"I believe we can make people enjoy their day out even more."

Fabulous Feasts will open eight new outlets in the Lord’s Food Village, serving everything from flame-grilled British burgers and juicy American-style hot dogs loaded with tasty toppings, to spicy and authentic curries complete with crispy poppadom shards.

There will also be a traditional beer-battered fish & chip stall and a selection of hot, wholesome and homemade pies, as well as marinated chicken on a bed of summer salad, fresh baps crammed full of pulled British meats and chargrilled veggies, and Mexican-style burritos stuffed with delicious spices.

Across the board Fabulous Feasts will be using fresh, local ingredients wherever possible to make sure that quality is second to none; guaranteeing spectators loads of choice and the most delicious food on every major match day at Lord’s.

Jon Robinson, MCC Assistant Secretary (Marketing & Catering), described the deal as setting the benchmark for public catering.

He added: "Lord’s Cricket Ground is renowned for the quality of its food, and this new venture will enhance this reputation further by offering quality fast food at competitive prices."
