Good Gear Guide launched

The Cricketer magazine have launched the Good Gear Guide 2014, in partnership with Lord’s.

The Guide is printed in this month’s magazine, which hits shops on Friday 14 February. It also features on the Lord's Store website.

Testing for the equipment featured in the guide took place in the MCC Academy at Lord’s, with the six testers from The Cricketer being assisted by MCC Young Cricketers.

The Lord’s Cricket Store is offering up to 25% off all the products featured in the Good Gear Guide until 31 March.

Additionally, Lord’s are offering a 'try before you buy' service for all bats featured in the guide, with customers able to test bats out in the nets of the MCC Academy.

The Guide sees six expert testers from The Cricketer try the latest releases of cricketing equipment, with pads, gloves, boots, helmets, and 37 bats being rigorously tested, with the results ranking the kit in order.

Amongst the testers were MCC Head Coach and former England and Gloucestershire allrounder Mark Alleyne, former Nottinghamshire spinner Jim Hindson, Lord’s Cricket Store supervisor Aff Naseem and The Cricketer’s Editor Andrew Miller.

They were assisted by The Cricketer’s anonymous First Class player, who reviews for the site under the pseudonym of 'The Don'.

The Lord’s Cricket Store have released a series of Buyers’ Guide videos, showcasing expert tips and professional insight, highlighting what to look out for when purchasing new kit.
