Sachin Tendulkar has promised to "give something special to the spectators" ahead of captaining MCC against the Rest of the World at Lord’s.
Tendulkar, speaking at a press conference alongside fellow captain Shane Warne, pledged to entertain the fans who are celebrating the Bicentenary of the present Lord’s Ground on Saturday 5 July.
"You’ve got such amazing players here," he said.
"The idea of this game is to celebrate the occasion and give something special to the spectators, compete in the right spirit and compete as hard as possible, and we’re looking forward to the match."
India legend Tendulkar, who will lead Rahul Dravid, Brett Lee and Brian Lara and others in a star-studded MCC side, went on to talk about his personal connection with Lord’s.
"Lord’s is always a special feeling whenever I come here. It’s special – the feel and atmosphere of the place is fantastic and no matter how many times you come here you feel special.
"As a 14 year old kid I came here with my cricket club, and the team wanted to take a photo in front of the beautiful pavilion. The groundsman told us not to walk on the green, and it feels nice to be able to walk there to the middle now!"
