Strauss nominated for British Sport Book Award

MCC Honourary Life Member Andrew Strauss has been nominated in the ‘Best Autobiography/Biography’ category for the British Sports Book Awards.

Strauss’ book “Driving Ambition: My Autobiography” will go up against the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Ricky Hatton for the prize, which will be announced at an award ceremony dinner at Lord’s on Wednesday 21 May.

2014 will be the 12th annual edition of the awards, with journalist David Walsh’s pursuit of Lance Armstrong “Seven Deadly Sins” taking the honours in this category last year.

Nasser Hussain is a previous winner of the Best Autobiography Award, with his book “Playing with Fire” receiving the prize in 2005.

The awards, which were also held in a gala dinner at Lord’s last year, will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

The shortlist for all nine categories will be announced on April 28.
